I am more familiar with that area than Dumbya (maybe that is not too high a hurdle, so let me say that I am more familiar with that area than the average American!). I have never visited Afghanistan but have spent time in the Indian subcontinent.

If fighting a war in Afghanistan was so tough (and I presume you agree that we had to go there), then it was all the more important that we refrained from misadventures like Iraq. We should have poured all our energies into the Afghanistan effort (so Karzai wouldn't have to go begging NATO for help, almost 3 years after we got into Afghanistan).
