At the moment, news.google.com shows 54 unique stories on this, or 229 total, see news.google.com . From a quick survey, a pretty good proportion of them seem to be taking the standard conservative line, so your "oddness" factor is a bit dubious. At any rate, I don't exactly see how any of it excuses W's handlers blowing Plame's cover, but that would be a theological issue. All's fair when you really, really want to have a war, I guess.
