One more question if possible. Say you sell a call or put that is in the money. When are you effectively the proud owner of a position. I mean when are you assigned. I am familar with the price factor but not the time. Also if you are assigned is that the same as owning? This is in the case of selling a itm put.Immediately? At close? Just curious because it looks like selling itm calls or puts in extreme moves where ordinarily you would be selling or buying the underlying seems like a possible thing to look at. If this is common sense please forgive me. I am just starting out.
