EC clears importation of genetically modified corn By August Cole SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- The European Commission on Monday said that it will permit the sale of feed corn made from Monsanto's (MON: news, chart, profile) genetically modified maize in member countries, the first such product to gain approval in Europe. The approval is good for 10 years. The maize will be clearly labelled to set it apart from traditional maize, the EC said. Monsanto (MON: news, chart, profile) stock rose 4 cents to $36.62 in New York.
