But the most bedeviling for me is the notion we need a savior to move on to the next world. I don't believe in a "next world." You die, that's it. How then do you explain inexplicable supernatural phenomena? Not all such phenomena is a hoax. The belief in an afterlife is a convenient excuse to waste this life. I will not waste this life. Religion makes very clear that to waste your life here is a sin. The premise behind many religions is that we are in this life to learn and improve our souls.
