You are making assumptions. You are assuming that the gay people that wanted to get married were "left", or the judges that allowed them to get married were "left". Can you back that up?

Of course it's true. They knew they had no chance to win... and you don't lose on purpose unless there is a positive political spin. They were trying to motivate the religious right... it was pure political theater.

If you are not completely naive or completely partisan, admit that it was an election year show. Even some of the Republicans (McCain for one, your hero) were disgusted.
