You present these WMD statements as if they a) were false, b) were known to be false at the time, c) were not even plausible. We don't know that they were false, they were certainly thought to be true by every intelligence service in the world, and far from being implausible, it would have been criminal negligence for anybody to assume otherwise, considering Saddam's track record.

All we know is that we did not find the stocks of WMd we expected, except for a few sarin shells. However, the programs did exist for a long time, and trucks of something were sent to Syria in 2003, and Syria ain't telling.

You do recall that Saddam had both made and used WMD in the past, don't you? Next thing I know, you're going to be telling me that the Iranians and the Kurds only imagined being gassed.
