Iran is where the oil is, simple as that. Also, Iran does have a history as a foe of the U.S., so it would be easy to make them an enemy in the minds of the American people. Strategically, we probably should have attacked Pakistan first. They've got real connections to terrorists. What do you make of the story that the head of the Pakastani intelligence agency wired Muhammad Atta $100,000 just days before 9/11? If that's true, it's means a direct connection between Pakistan and Al Queda.
