Opinion only--- as I understand, you tender your shares for $31.00 through your broker by August 29th.

In previous tenders I have experienced, the tendering involves no brokerage commissions. The amount paid for tendering is the amount you get---i.e. $31.00.

If you have possession of the shares in certificate form and not in a broker's possession then the process is usually different. It would involve your filling out forms and mailing---possibly with a bank certified signature.

The important thing is to decide whether or not you want to tender. I see no reason to not tender---hence I am tendering.

If I like Lucent then I will buy shares later. Seems like a good merger.
