re: 1) The whole "vast right-wing conspiracy" nonsense already wore thin before 9/11. I'm not suggesting conspiracy. I'm suggesting ignorance and ineptitude. re: 2) If the Bush administration played right into Osama's hands, then so did the Democrats in the way they have predictably responded to Bush's actions in the war on terror. Maybe... but what do you do? His actions are breeding terrorists; his "war on terror" is just the opposite. If we had targeted the money, effort and lives at the terrorists we might have accomplished something. (BTW, for the first time since 9/11, I'm beginning to think we are likely to have a serious terrorist attack in this country in the near future). John
