JF, Maybe... but what do you do? His actions are breeding terrorists; his "war on terror" is just the opposite. If we had targeted the money, effort and lives at the terrorists we might have accomplished something.

How do we do that? As Dennis Miller pointed out, there is no country called Al Qaedia. And although intelligence definitely needs to be improved, it's never going to be close to a foolproof system, or even an effective deterrent, since all the terrorists need is to succeed just 10% of the time.

I'm asking the question rhetorically, not just because the answers aren't easy, but to point out how much of a dilemma we put ourselves into. Go ahead and criticize Bush if you want, since he probably deserves some of it, if not most. I just don't see any real alternatives, other than a lot of hand-waving and wishful thinking.
