I haven't redefined mission-critical to be less than 99.5% at all - that is your interpretation of my comments.

I beleive that NT can be 99.5% reliable, within the confines of the parameters that I specified.

If you want 99.5% in all cases, go with Sun/Solaris. If you can live with some limitations, and don't need scalability, you can save quite a bit of money with NT.
