1990 was different. There Greenspan was slow to lower rates. Here rates are already low and by election time won't be significantly higher but will be slightly higher. I don't think the stock market forseeing slower growth ahead will have an effect on the election because those higher rate effects won't actually be seen by the individual and businesses until next year after the election. We would all like to have better jobs, more money. The reality is you take the best job you can get. For those that don't have jobs or skills there are still jobs available. Illegal immigrants prove everyday that there are always jobs available. I'd prefer that Americans have realistic views of their lack of skills at take those low paying jobs rather than engaging in criminal activity. If poor Mexicans are willing to take such jobs and not engage in criminal activity why can't unskilled Americans do the same thing? The answer is pride and failure to recognize that they do not possess the skills they THINK they have.
