I'm wondering just how many Americans would like Canada's long waiting lists, medical czars deciding what treatments we get and an exodus of doctors.

Interesting read. The info in that article doesn't "check out" at all well with my family's own experiences. Considering that a member of my immediate family went to the emergency ward late one night with what seemed like a digestive system disorder -- had an ultrasound within 2 hours that discovered a kidney tumor, had a CT the next morning, and then an MRI the following day, and was operated on to remove a cancerous kidney within 4 days, I'd say that's kinda quick, wouldn't you? I currently have an aunt who is in the cardiac unit having tests after going into emergency with breathing problems. They diagnosed a heart condition within a couple of hours and that's being looked at right now. Sorry, the Fraser Institutes (a decidedly right-leaning think-tank) has probably cobbled together the kind of facts that THEY want to find. Too bad they don't actually seem to make any sense with "reality".

Bzzzzzzzttt.. yet another right-wing neocon attempt to discredit the Canadian health care system.
