Big-time Fact checking for Bearcatbob and his BS:
1. Bush is Stupid: Who said that except you? Bush is a smart campaigner. He does not read much or speak well without a script. I've heard he's dyslexic, but he's got street smarts when it comes to fierce (and dirty) campaigning he learned from Lee Atwater, the granddaddy of dirty modern politics (see WIllie Horton).
2. Bush Ruined the Legacy of the Clinton Economy: Bush took a huge surplus and turnede it into a huge deficit. He fixed what wasn't broken and he dismantled CLinton's counter-terrorism network. It's also pretty obvious he encouraged or ignored massive energy gouging from 2000 on. The recession started in March 2001 on his watch. Bush ignored terrorism and 9-11 happened on his watch.
3. Bush Tax Cuts Caused the Deficit: Bush has over-spent and under-taxed, being the only president ever to cut taxes during war-time. Of course his tax cuts are half of the deficit problem. That and his and DElay's spending like drunken sailors, as McCain states. Bush's tax cuts for the rich have to be rescinded. They wqere unnecessary and helkp no one but the top 1%.
4. Bush is Not a Good Leader: Bush has always been a good cheerleader ever since college. He has surrounded himself with CEO type buddies, given Big Oil a hueg say in our government plus did well to appoint Powell, who disagrees with him most of the time. Condi Rice is the worst national security advisor we've ever had and we all know why she got the job. Her skin color and sex only. She didn't even mention terrorism until after 9-11.
5. Bush Lied About WMDs: Bush absolutely lied, and insinuated many more lies, as did all his people and the rightwing pundits and talk radio propaganda artists. Bush is quoted as saying "We've already found them!" meaning the WMD's, but they were just mobile labs which were quickly proven to be harmless. Bush did lie and continues lying. He has no problem lying, spinning and distorting, none whatsoever.
6. Bush is a Big Spender: The biggest in history including huge corporate welfare, not letting the war be paid for, underestimating or lying about war and Medicare costs, etc.
7. Bush is a Divider: It comes down to this, would you buy a used car from this guy? AT first most people said yes, but now he has proven himself to be devious and dishonest. He also lied in 2000 portraying himself as a moderate, then once he CHEATED to get into power he moved to the hardline rightwing and has stayed there ever since. Of course he's a divider. Terrible on things like the environment, health care, diplomacy and kowtows to the Christian right and Big Oil all the time.
8. Bush Tax Cuts are for the Top 1%: Bush's tax cuts tilt the weight onto the middleclass. They do give the richest Americans HUGE HUGE unnecessary tax breaks, especially when the estate tax cuts come in, and trickle-down does not work. It's a huge giveaway to the rich at the expense of our ability to pay for Bush's very spending programs, including the military, SS and Medicare.
9. Bush is Anti Black: Bush kowtows to the far right voter block which is NOT for civil rights. That's the old Southern STrategy. Other than the tokenism of Condi Rice, there are no blacks in the rightwing power structure. Colin Powell was appointed for his popularity and is heartsick about the way he's ben treated. A moderate like Powell in the Bush administration is a painful thing to witness. He gets used and stabbed in the back repeatedly.
10. Bush Wants to Trash the Environment: As representatives for Big Oil, Big Chemicals, Big Power Plants and Big Timber, Bush-Cheney are the worst environmental administration in history. They receive the first ZERO GRADE ever from the League Of Conservation Voters. Bush lied blatantly when he promised to be the "enviroinmental president"
11. Bush Tolerates Corporate Corruption: Halliburton and Enron are the two companies closest to Cheney and Bush. Enuf said. Add in Delay and you have three big stinkers turning blind eyes to corporate giveaways, gouging and corruption. Martha Stewart was not the real perp.
12. Al Gore Won the Election: Jeb Bush cut 57,700 voters off the rolls in Florida, most of whom were democrats and thousands of whom were perfectly legal voters. That alone would have given Gore the election. Itw as fraud plain and simple and Jeb was trying it again in 2004 until the Miami Herald caught him. See the Herald for theb stories.
Fact check: Kerry is also for tax cuts, but not for the richest Americans. We need to start paying as we go again, like CLinton did.
We need to get OFF oil over the next 20 years. We cannot drill our way out of ths problem. We also need much more conservation.
Kerry will be very strong and smart on counter-terror. He warned Bush and Clinton both of 9-11 type attacks in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Bush ignored all such warnings. |
