Obviously this politically-timed leak is nothing but a distraction and smear campaign. I agree. That is why I think that it was leaked from the Berger camp to mitigate the potential damage. By the way, I thought that leakers and whistle blowers were a good thing. I guess it depends on who's ox is getting gored. Gergen has 100% credibility and came to Berger's defense 100%. Chris Matthews interviewed Gergen last night and your characterization of his "defense" is a bit excessive. Chris Matthews was considerably more upset about Berger than Gergen. No one is suggesting that Berger passed any documents on to a foreign government. And who is the accuser here? The Archives staff. Hardly political. Can't you read?
