Kerry has convinced 53% of Americans that he has the personality and leadership qualities a president should have. That's about the same as the 55% who say that of Bush. Roughly equal numbers of voters say each candidate agrees with them on the issues that matter most — 49% for Kerry, 47% for Bush.
