Pluvia, etc.:

This morning I showed Westergaard's web site to my wife; the opening page, right below the menu bar, is as follows:

"Pluvia vs. Westergaard at Silicon Investor

Wow, haven't we cooked up a storm and hit on some raw nerves?

This is John Westergaard of Westergaard Online Systems logging in under the good graces of a friend. I plan on registering for Silicon Investor ASAP.

Between comments at this site and email, I have received well over 100 notices to be reviewed on the matter of Pluvia. I will provide a detailed response here by the latest Monday morning.

I will discuss the pros and cons of PLSIA at that time. I will point out that Pluvia's comments re the company are not fraudulent or even misinformed, but they are purposely twisted, however, in a manner that is potentially damaging to investors. I will attempt to analyze his possible motives.

On the issue of privacy, I appreciate the concerns expressed by many contributors and can assure you all, and Steve Pluvia, that we will not reveal his true name or address.

John W.

Note: Criticism that we might be violating the right to privacy of a nom de plume as a result of our activities is as good an example of an oxymoron as one is likely to find."

_____end of quote from Westergaard web site._______

I believe this is word for word the post made earlier under another SI Id, "as", whose profile only gives an e-mail link to an America-On-Line account. Has anyone checked AOL's member profiles? Is this id possibly that of Anne Stratton, who I believe is one of Westergaard's editors? If, for the sake of argument, the SI ID "as" belongs to Anne Stratton, what, if any, implication does that raise? By his own words Mr. Westergaard claims he is "logging in under the good graces of a friend." A friend or employee?

It seems that Westergaard is working hard to escalate this matter, rather than letting it simmer, pending his stated promise to provide "a detailed response here by the latest Monday morning." When I checked the web site yesterday this matter was set out 2 or 3 pages down; now it is the most prominent item.

Pluvia - my take on this is that a lot of the SI community, both those that agree with you and those that disagree, are rallying to support you. This matter goes way beyond a simple "Pluvia vs. Westergaard", although you obviously do have a good case here for legal actions. It hits at the very essence of what SI and many of the other threads, chat rooms, etc. on the 'Net are all about - the ability for all of us to freely exchange the good, the bad, and the ugly on investing. I, for one, hope that some of the media, such as the CNN's program on the Internet hosted by Brian Nelson get wind of this and raise it to a whole new level.

You have my best wishes and support - Ken Merwin
