It' really very simple Brian If Christ returned in 70 A.D. then there would obviously be some historical evidence. One of the early Church writers would have recorded it and it would have been common knowledge, but the evidence points in the opposite direction. Polycarp was a disciple of the apostle John and his writings directly refute your view. You don't have an answer to this, WHY? Insisting that something happened just because you preterists have a modern day interpretation that no body has ever held in two thousand years just makes yourself look foolish.
