I'd wager that to around half, "The Great Satan" was just as hated as Saddam.

That might point out the importance of getting the world involved (despite the antics of the French, the Germans, and the U.N.), but it still doesn't mean they didn't want Saddam taken out.

Nearly, 40% of the Iraqi population is Sunni. At least that amount did not want Saddam gone. They had it good. Its not a stretch to think that another 10% of the population may have favored him as well.

Surprising as this may sound to us, there are Iraqis who wish that he were back now.

However, there is a bigger issue in play here. 50% of Americans want Bush gone but few of us would be happy if China were the one to take him out. Most people want to take care of their problems in their own way. Whenever a 'bully' comes along and does it for them, they feel distrustful of the situation and the 'bully'. That's what happened to us in Iraq. Its basic human psychology in play.

Now we are in a senseless war and don't know how to get out of it.
