Definitely. Those with the means, can easily live a fossil fuel and nuclear power free lifestyle. A geothermal heat pump for heating/cooling, with electricity for the house and heat pump supplied by solar. Then, any number of options for a car that's petrol free. An electric car (charged by solar or some other renewable), fuel cell car, biofueled powered car, etc. Petrol/nuclear freedom is just a matter of money at this point.
