tip, that is a problem today with finding a real portfolio manager. The "quantitative" approach looks good until it fails miserably. Then there is no fixing it. The machine keeps harping on the fallacy when it is proven wrong since machines know they can't be wrong. <G> The most common comment I hear from quant jocks is "pay no attention to our numbers. We've improved the model since then." What a hoot!
