Hussein's inhumanity to his own people .......... .......... was not one of the reasons for the invasion of Iraq. It would have been my main reason for working for regime change in Iraq. The only serious reasons presented by bush for invading Iraq related to WMD, al Qaeda, and terrorists in general. Each of those reasons lacked merit before the invasion. Now they are toilet paper. This insanity in Iraq has diverted American attention from any sensible "war on terror" which would have been better pursued in Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden was not captured and the Taliban is now resurfacing. The U.S. is now stuck in a costly and worthless quagmire in Iraq. Nothing is being accomplished there. In fact, we are backtracking. Most importantly, though, domestic security has not been enhanced. /john
