Don't drink the "Bush made them hate him" koolaide, Karen. Not about the Intellectuals. Most were over all on the left all last century. And almost all joined in the 60s. They don't think this country is better than the rest of the world. To a lot of them, Islam is just as good. They reject "materialism" the same way the Militant Islamists do. That is what makes the soft war so hard. The country is divided on fighting it.
