Scott: IMO, freedom of speech on the internet does not extend to the deliberate spread of misinformation and lies about companies. I have no idea whether Pluvia was doing this concerning the issue at hand, but when he made the "bad news coming" call concerning Arakis Energy a few months back (which I referred to in a previous post), he was very close to crossing the line of blatant manipulation, in my opinion.

I post on SI without worry, because when I post, I am not trying to spread misinformation and if something I say is my opinion rather than fact, I make it clear it is my opinion.

We already know the SEC monitors these threads (see the past few months of posts on the Green Oasis Environmental thread if you don't believe me). Outright lies and stock manipulation are illegal regardless of the medium for spreading them.

If one posts honestly, IMO they have nothing to fear from the likes of the SEC or the WIBN. If one is spreading lies, rumors, etc. which constitute stock manipulation, maybe one SHOULD have something to fear.
