An interesting analogy for you ..........

.......... I teach math. My students routinely ask me: "When am I ever going to use this?" My answer is simple: "Never, specifically! But math education helps your brain deal with the kinds of intellectual uncertainties you will undoubtedly confront later on."

I remember when I was a kid. I asked the same questions about math education. Who had any idea about the boom of the computer age that was to come and how those with math educations would be in the right place at the right time?

With presidential leadership we need people with intellectual training to deal with the uncertainties of the future. There's no way John Kerry would have made such a horrific mistake as having invaded Iraq. As a result, we have to say Bush has abdicated his right to deal with the next uncertainty. It's simply time to take responsibility for the uncertainties facing our country away from the Republican Party--at least for now.

Kerry is a fine man. He is a solid consensus candidate of the Democratic Party. He is a man with excellent experience, wisdom, and intellectual credentials to deal with the world's uncertainties. I tend to agree with you that he will make an excellent power broker. Choosing John Edwards was fine move in that direction.

The United States citizentry, at times, likes flamboyant behavior. It loved Bush's wild and quick response by sending tons of bombers off to Afghanistan. But like any child, he lacked commitment and savvy to finish the job. Dealing with the political difficulties related to Osama bin Laden fleeing into the caverns of Pakistan bewildered him. So he had to go off on an irrational spree into Iraq. That was nonsensical. The citizenry not recognizing this is nothing short of bizarre.
