The search for value seems far more serious today. Investors are faced with executives that in some cases are little better than muggers and regulators who are overworked and underpowered, if the courts have not managed to be heard, investors have. Savage retaliation in the market accompanies any hint of financial impropriety. The market can be far more severe than any court in making final decisions about the viability of a corporation. The hunt for value continues and the average investor is far smarter than the average investor of just a few short years ago. The courts are handing out longer sentences to those that get caught, the markets are retaliating when impropriety is detected and on the surface it would appear to be a good market for investors so...where are all the investors ? They are watching the cracks, waiting for the next chunk to fall out.
