Oh come on. All you do is reset the machines and you get the same economies of scale. The example I gave from my own experience was just to illustrate how simple it is to adjust. And as a matter of fact, my custom-cut lumber hardly cost any more than the standard sizes once the $150 set-up had been done.

It is ridiculous to claim that cutting lumber to metric sizes is a problem. In fact the supposed two-by-four size is not really two inches by four inches and is often expressed in millimeters.

I am not going to discuss this any further because it is too silly. You might as well argue that you can't sell American water in litres because we measure it in gallons.
