No, not exactly, but it is a reason.

They believe our culture is decadent, offends Allah because of its decadence, and accordingly must be brought under submission to their intolerant ways.

For myself, I think the things I mentioned do show a decline in American mass popular culture. It has indubitably become a lot more crass than it ever was in the past. But I also understand that as we age this is not an uncommon thought so I keep that notion also in mind.
