For myself, I think the things I mentioned do show a decline in American mass popular culture.

I agree with that. And I agree that it is not helpful in the war on terror or whatever the war is now officially "on."

What I find interesting and amusing (I included a <g>), though, is the way some folks have throughout this been on the case of those who become introspective and try to identify what we may be doing to trigger this hostility in the Arab world. It's called "hate America first." It's lefty. It's unpatriotic to consider how we may be fostering that hatred. It's all Osama's fault, not ours.

Unless, of course, that introspection turns up some American foibles that are the fault of the left and distasteful to the right. Then, of course, it's healthy to be introspective, to identify our offenses, and to try not to further offend the evil-doers. LOLOLOL.
