re: "We aren’t the only people on earth who have fought for freedom, not by a long shot."
There are people, who will fight for their own freedom, but please tell me of a country that sends its troops to fight for the freedom of other people. Americans have been dying for the freedom of other peoples for 90 years now. I can think of no other country with that record. Did the United States colonize France, Belgium, Italy, Morocco, Germany, South Korea, Kuwait, or Japan after its victorious armies rolled through those respective countries? IMO, the deaths of Americans in France weren't necessary to the preservation of America's Freedom either, just another example of America sending its troops to liberate another. And I am somewhat offended by the view, that America's goals in Iraq were imperialistic. |
