She hates it when people she disagrees with pay good money to hear her sing. Weird, no? "Weird" is putting it mildly. How would she even know? Why would she care? Sounds nuts to me. You may not know that Ronstadt comes from a very political family. I only know this because my father lives in Tucson. She has relatives who are or were mayor, chief of police, and who knows what. Very powerful there. I would venture a guess that none of your leftist friends feel comfortable in the company of conservatives or members of the religious right who never even let out a peep about their beliefs. I'm quite sure I don't have a friend of any persuasion who would be discomfited by or rude to someone of a different political or religious persuasion. At least not unless stuck together for unreasonable periods of time. <g> For years I was in a carpool with four seculars, a converted Catholic, and later joined by a woman whose vanity plate read "Yeshua." We were all political independents, of course. The woman with the license plate was only with us for a short time because she was unreliable so I never got a chance to learn the tolerance threshold of the group. My sense was that it was good but probably not infinite.
