Not particularly.

I think Win had replied to one of Nadine's posts dealing with Okrent. In any event, Win inevitably mentions the right's problem with the NYT--told me once to "get over it"--so it seemed appropriate to pick any of them at random to which to reply with Okrent's editorial, which in my view is a shot across the bow to the NYT to let go of its bias now that the campaign is commencing in earnest. Otherwise, he has the ability to make life very, very nasty for it. A well-timed resignation, a harsher piece, etc., could be deadly.

The use of Public Editor is really a very good thing. I applaud the NYT for appointing Okrent to perfom self-checks, though the editors may regret the day he was hired.
