I never suggested such a ridiculous scenario, I was merely laughing at your statement about Bush's Guard enlistment being "due to circumstances beyond his control".

He did have to personally sign the enlistment papers, (he did write on them that the reason he was seeking to enlist in the Guard was that he 'didn't want to go overseas'....)

I suppose the miraculous way he managed to leapfrog over a couple of hundred other applicants (waiting in line for Texas Guard spots a lot longer then he) was at least somewhat 'in his control'. He could have told his Senator father's political handlers --- who pulled the strings --- that he didn't want special treatment, I guess.

Not that what he did was very uncommon for the times....
