The Real Warriors of the Information Superhighway; NBC The New Bill Channel? Apparently, John C. Dvorak has been thinking the same thing we have. In the September 9, issue of PC MAGAZINE, Dvorak has a feature column on NBC: The New Bill Channel and he says some very interesting things, as follows: "...Simmering under the surface of today's high-technology news are juicy tidbits that lead me to believe Bill Gates will become a media mogul...to get the trappings he's decided to make some interesting alliances. The most extreme is with a current media magnate-Australia's richest man, Kerry Packer...He's also an enemy of Rupert Murdoch, who I believe will eventually butt heads with Gates..."Since starting MSNBC, Gates has bought WebTV and a billion-dollar share of Comcast, and now all he needs to put himself into the big leagues with the major players is a content factory such as NBC.
