And then some facts he has right. A lot more than the right will ever admit to. The right's policy seems to be to deny, befuddle, and outright lie if you need to to obfuscate the truth. There's a little clip of Cheney doing exactly that, saying very absolutely that he didn't say something and then the rest of the clip shows a clip of a previous show where he is saying exactly what he says he never said.

I don't think what you describe is limited to the Republicans. It appears to be a trait of all political speech.

I have always been amazed when a politician (regardless of party orientation) is asked a direct question that can be answered either "yes" or "no" and he/she goes on to evade the question for 10 minutes. Most of the time, the interviewer lets it go, instead of saying, "No, what I asked you was.... Now, please answer the question."
