GS US SEMI EQUIPMENT: FIRST SIGNS OF SEMI EQUIPMENT ORDER PUSH-OUTS

SUMMARY: Our global team's checks have uncovered the first meaningful order
push-outs in this semi equipment cycle. Recall that our global team has highlighted in
recent weeks that some of the mid-tier foundries have started to see declining utilization
rates due to customer order cancellations. Our checks now indicate that as a result of the
declining utilization rates, some customers have started to push-out orders previously
made to the equipment companies. While we do not believe recently offered CQ3 order
guidance is yet at risk, we will carefully monitor any additional push-outs/cancellations
which would put guidance at risk. We believe this is another confirming data point that
the semi equipment cycle is approaching the last stages of the upturn and we would
continue to avoid overweight positions in the stocks.
