and it all depends on (per the analyst) telcos fighting back against the inroads the Comcasts and other cable companies are making into their territory, phone service and other broadband applications, e g movies-on-demand - which they have no choice but to do via FTTP buildouts.

So I read that as a matter of "when" rather than "if". In the meantime we sit in doldrums, treading water.
