Off topic: today's Barrons has a cover story on the shading dealings of Osicom Technologies, another stock recommended by BI Research. I have to say that much of my perrenial doubt about Lidak (healthy skepticism?) stems from hearing some negative things a couple of years ago - namely, (1) a knowledgeable biotech guy mentioning that Lidak management has a less-than-pristine past (something like the company is now a reincarnation of a previously failed Katz venture), and (2) LDAKA was one of the stocks hyped by some shady stock promoter. I know (2) for a fact (saw it in a Forbes article); (1) was the opinion of a guy on the newsgroups called Bapcha who worked in the pharmaceutical industry. I remember after the Bristol Myers announcement a year ago I offered that as evidence of good science, and Bapcha just dismissed it saying that the big boys have agreements with lots of startups. Since he was definitely biased I wouldn't take his opinion as Gospel but I thought it was worthy of some consideration. Anyway, perhaps it is this black cloud hanging over the company that explains the current stock price. I'd like to think that there's no impropriety but just that Lidak is not very savvy about investor relations and turns off people (the BI editor, for one.)
