1. See my post #183 re RFMD. I doubt that they would in a big way get into either the business for infrastructure amplifiers or special devices for these amplifiers. The big volume is in the handset biz and I think this is their main pursuit. Volume for infrastructure devices is relatively very small. Merchant semi devices for infrastructure have tended to be produced by a small group of companies, including the former Avantek division of HP, Fujitsu, Harris Corp., NEC, Mitsubishi, Siemens etc. In the past these companies have primarily supplied devices to the microwave radio, satellite communications, and defense electronics industries. There is a lot of "witchcraft" related to designing these devices, especially high power devices. SPCT builds their own high power devices.
