First, the competition is not the primary question one must ask but, "
What will bandwidth be like in the near future?" If the average person has
access to greater than one MB speeds than the world looks alot different
than today. However, the increase in bandwidth over the last few years
is really nothing to write home about. For example, I have 56K modem, but
unless AOL upgrades their modems I am still at 28-31k.
Second, MACR does produce all of their software in Windows. Their big
disaster was that when CD and CD making exploded in 93-95. Everyone and their
mother started a CD-ROM design shop and bought a couple of copies of Director.
Many of those people went bankrupt and they are not going to buy any
upgrades.
