That's because you believe what you want to believe. You can honestly say that Kerry is not your candidate and move on - but nay you have to try to diminish the man's tall stature by trying to find something about his vietnam tour.

I can honestly say that as a presidential candidate he did not inspire me last year (and even now). His speeches are boring and he seemed to have it both ways (flip/flop ? ), seemed to project ambition.

However the more I dig into this man's achievements over the last 30 years he comes out strong and tall. Before I was opposing Bush and would have voted Kerry just for that reason. Now the more I know about his investigations into Iran contra affair (when everybody was calling him nuts), his opposition to Vietnam war, his push for normalization with Vietnam, his investigations into MIA POWs, his bipartisan legislation, him garnering admiration from Republicans on the work he has done - seems more and more that he is the right man for the job.

But then it is my opinion only.
