FFBA's competition in Colorado is First Bank System, Norwest, First Interstate
and the locally owned Vectra Bank (VTRA). The other Rocky Mt. bank of critical
mass is Zion National of Salt Lake City, UT. (Remember the Jesus Christ of
the Latter Day Saints Church or LDS or Mormon referred to their movement as
Zionist-do not confuse this with zionist movements in Israel, Russia etc).

I will concern myself with the locally owned Colorado bank, Vectra. This bank
is a fine bank mostly doing business in Boulder county. Though recently,
VTRA bought the Professional Bank of Denver to go along with its downtown
Denver Branch. My wife has a 2nd mortgage acct with VTRA and is satisfied
with the service, competitive interest rate, and line of credit feature. VTRA
looks like a faster grower than FFBA because its starting from a lower base.
VTRA is growing in Denver and its suburbs too, with new branches in
Montbello and Highland Ranch. An aside, because of the new DIA airport
there are many areas in Denver proper that are MUCH farther away from
downtown than any suburb, the Montbello branch is located in such a region.
Its main customers will be sagebrush and prairie dogs until more people
move out closer to the DIA airport.
