My argument is that Okrent's article is off topic. What, exactly, you impute my "argument about Okrent's statement" to be is where I'm confused. I don't even know what "Okrent statement" you're referring to.

If you're talking about the alleged general obligation of the NYT to be "unbiased", by not printing anything that might annoy W's true believers, well, there's Fox News and the WSJ editorial page on the other side, and I don't exactly perceive them to be worried much about bias in the reciprocal sense. Though Fox does have that ironic "fairandbalanced" tag line, always good for a hoot. Roger Ailes knows perfectly well what he's doing there, by all indications.
