Personally, I play DD whenever possible. But good games in this area (the South) are getting more difficult to find. In Tunica, Harrahs now owns half the casinos, and they would LOVE to do away with table games altogether I think.

It is amazing the number of engineers who have found fascination with this aspect of gambling.

As to survival -- I believe that, too. Continuous shufflers didn't work out for the casinos. I've recently played in a casino where they were giving 80% pen on DD -- but they seem to have been under the impression that by putting the cards normally behind the cut card into the discard tray they were somehow making it more difficult. The point being that sometimes those in the casinos know so little about the game it amazes me.
