Ten, I have a different view. I think those who are playing online are often becoming better players than those who play live tournaments. Why? Because you get 10x the practice in some of those pros do.

I personally think the "tells" of the live games are somewhat overrated. Online play has its own set of "tells". The key to the game is putting someone "on" a hand about the time of the flop. I find I can do this most of the time with fairly good accuracy, just in the "mannerisms" from their online play.

The biggest problem with the online games is that the players' investments are too small, for the most part. If you only have $10 or $20 in the game, you'll go all-in more frequently in an effort to scare others off. You're not risking but $10, why not? Each level up you move, this becomes less of a problem, I'm sure -- but the $5 games are tough -- rather than invest a lot of time into a game and then lose, you see people try to bluff big for a couple hands so they can double up early. They wouldn't do this in a live game with a $300 or $1000 buyin.

My suspicion is that online players become better technicians of the game, while live poker games produce the artists of the game.
