I saw it, that is, most of it. I walked out right after he did the bit about American soldiers in Iraq being murderous scum and right before he started with the heartstring tugging over dead American murderous scum in Iraq. I guess to Michael Moore, the only good American soldier is a dead American soldier.
It's a free country, he's entitled to his opinions, but almost all of what he says is just that, opinion.
I was almost amused by the fact that the movie theater showed the film annoyingly out of focus, deliberately, and not only refused to focus it, they got belligerent. I almost got thrown out by the manager, who quite deliberately kept selling concessions even though there were plenty of people behind the counter just standing around. She said she would call the projectioner when she was done selling popcorn. I pointed out that the theater was full of hundreds of people who paid good money to watch the thing out-of-focus and she owed it to us to get it focussed. She said if I did not like the way she ran her theater, I could leave.
Anyway, I was with my liberal family members, so went back in, and did my best to tolerate it, but between the poor quality and Moore's relentless chicanery, eventually I had enough, and left. Did not ask for a refund, my pain was mostly due to Moore, who is shameless. It was sort of like going to the dentist without Novocain. |
