I'd love to hang Kerry for that but there were not any real security lapses that got missed on 9/11. At Dulles several of the hijackers got tagged for additional screenings but at the time utility knives were not illegal and not a security lapse. A security lapse is when a weapon is illegal and contraband to be carried aboard and security fails to find the weapon. In this instance I do fault Kerry for saying that he immediately sounded the alarm about legal knives aboard planes when he did not. The FAA controlled such regulations at the time.
