I'm a kind of peacenik with a stick, myself. I think the Christian principle of forgiveness is one of its most important, and I think President Bush has that. But like me, he's a peaceable man--the kind that you shouldn't cross without expecting some consequences.

I went for Carter and spent a few years as a lukewarm liberal, but the rest of my life has been conservative republican, apparently like you.

I think the cold war feeling is emanating from those countries whose leaders would rather knuckle under than stand up. Tony Blair was a tremendous surprise for me, and I respect him for taking a stand that was indeed painful for him.

As for Bill Clinton's use of the military, I thought it was entirely inept and useless.
