I apologize for posting erroneous information when I said the President George W. Bush thread had no banned list and was truly open debate. http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=20350410 Apparently that is not entirely the case, and I should have researched the topic before putting my foot in my mouth.
My posts are generally civil, I hope, and I entreat all posters to be civil. Quite a few of those with whom I agree depart from this standard, which I regret. However, nobody appreciates a creative insult more than I, so have at 'er!
I tried to post a retraction, but was temporarily banned. After some private correspondence, ChinuSFO kindly allowed me back. While I was banned, I did the best that I could and posted the following on the Bush thread:

I think my misconception was based on the fact that I see these SAME guys EVERYWHERE, and it only seemed like they were showing up on the GWB thread. I should have checked with you, the source, before shooting off my mouth. I'll think twice next time.
I don't think anybody's freedom of speech has been abridged. There's plenty of space out there to say whatever the heck you want.
And for you whiners who complain about the banned list, I can only say the joke's on you. You protested too much.

The banned list has held pretty steady for a while with a few minor additions lately. AS has been banned a long time. |
